Trust But Verify
This is our independently vetted list of French Bulldog breeders who have met our criteria for health testing and transparency, including verifiable public OFA certifications for breed recommended health tests (hips, patellas, cardiac, eyes.).
We focus on ethics and health, awarding a "Verified" seal only after confirming eligibility via a combination of public databases or documentation provided by the Breeder themselves, such as Preliminary OFA certifications or spine reports, which are then issued a Legacy of Health number and rating.
OFA HIP RESULTS: Semi-Open Database
Note: in the instance of public hip test results in OFA, if the French Bulldog was tested before age 24 months (Preliminary) and the owner did not submit authorization to release abnormal results, OFA will not make even the NORMAL results available to the public.
While FBDFA does not agree entirely with that policy, we acknowledge the right OFA to make that decision. With that in mind, if you do not see a dog with hip results, it does not mean necessarily that the dog was untested. Many breeders have thus provided their certifications in addition to the public OFA database.

Verified Breeder List Disclaimer
The French Bulldog Foundation of America is a nonprofit organization and is not a breed registry. FBDFA does not register dogs, maintain pedigrees, or certify lineage.
- Breeders identified as “Verified Breeder” have submitted an application and, for the applicable verification period, have demonstrated compliance with the health testing, documentation, and transparency requirements of the FBDFA Legacy of Health (LOH) Program.
- Breeders identified as "Verified Breeder ~Public~ Parent Club Referral" have been found to have demonstrated compliance with the health testing, documentation, and transparency requirements of the FBDFA Legacy of Health Program.
- Verification is based solely on a review of Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) evaluations and other required materials that are publicly available or provided by the breeder.
- Verification status is provided for informational purposes only and shall not be construed as an endorsement, certification, recommendation, or warranty of any breeder, their practices, or the dogs they produce.
- FBDFA expressly disclaims any and all representations and warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of health, temperament, quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or pedigree.
- FBDFA does not evaluate, validate, or make any representations regarding coat color, hair type, structure, or other conformational traits, nor does it determine whether any dog meets the standards of any breed club or governing organization.
- FBDFA’s role is strictly limited to verifying compliance with the stated health evaluation and documentation criteria of the Legacy of Health Program and acknowledging any associated Legacy of Health (LOH) designations.
